Come See the Flowers...
In spring thousands of daffodils paint our quaint village yellow. We received 56,000 bulbs from generous readers across North America to help make Greendale the “Daffodale Capital of the World”.
Many of the bulbs were planted in a huge “rising sun” flowerbed with 51 daffodil rays representing each state and Canada. They have fared so well that we can no longer see the 51 individual rays, because the bulbs doubled and re-doubled into the openings between the rows. Since we received more bulbs than could possibly fit in the bed, many Greendale residents volunteered to plant the extras along our village streets. All of us who live and work in this historic village think that it’s “The Best Blooming Town in the Country”.
More than 40,000 flowers are planted annually along the downtown streets, in hanging baskets, in sidewalk beds and storefront flower boxes. There are plenty of comfortable benches amid the flowerbeds to allow you to sit, enjoy the view and chat with friendly Greendalers. We hope you enjoy
Greendale as much as we do. We think you’ll see why it’s a real “birds and bloom haven” and why we feel it’s one of the most charming, picturesque places in the country!
